Loss of a cilia champion
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our leadership team Tess Harris.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our dear friend and CILIAREN partner Tess Harris on March 1, 2024. She was a tireless advocate for patients with Polycystic Kidney Disease, renal ciliopathies and rare disease for many years. Tess was the CEO of PKD Charity UK, and a founding member of Ciliopathy Alliance. Tess was a champion of international partnerships to advance biomedical research, participating in many meetings and projects relating to rare kidney disease. Indeed she was a key member of our CILIAREN node and research network. Her passion, commitment, energy and infectious enthusiasm were an inspiration to all of us.
She will be sorely missed by the whole renal ciliopathies research community and above all by patients.
